To fully include the public in the design process, the Knik-Willow Transmission Line Upgrade Project Team scheduled and held public meetings in communities affected by the project. These meetings covered the public involvement, design, environmental, and construction phases of the project. The meetings allowed the project design team to describe the project, answer questions, and receive public comments.
The Project Team will use the comments collected at the three public meetings to develop a preliminary route selection document. The document will be available for public review and comment on the 'Project Documents' page of this website when completed. Formal public comments on the preliminary route selection document will be solicited at the formal public hearing listed below. Comments can also be submitted online through this website.
Formal Public Hearing
Wasilla Sports Facility, August 6, 2008, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
After the formal public hearing, the Project Team will use comments collected during the public open house meetings and the public hearing to generate a final decisional document. The document will describe the implementation of the public involvement program, the nature of public comment, the chosen course of action, and the timeline for construction of the project. It will also include copies of all written public comments and transcripts of testimony from the public hearing. The decisional document will be available to the public on the project website.
